I was speaking to a neighbour yesterday ....she had six babies of which only two have survived! Since her marriage...in a span of ten years she had six babies two of which she aborted and two of which she miscarried! All were C sections and extremely difficult deliveries where she was advised complete bed rest for almost all the deliveries for most of the 9 month period. While speaking to her what struck me the most was when she said she felt totally imprisoned with no freedom, how she felt that the time period was as if she had lost precious years of her life, unable to do anything. I was reminded about that verse in the Bible where it tells us what the locusts and the canker worm had eaten I will return to you .Only God can help us find what we have lost and make up for lost time in our lives...Joel 2:25
GOD IS THE AUTHOR OF TIME. HE IS THE ONE WHO PUTS LIFE INTO YOUR YEARS AND YEARS INTO YOUR LIFE.
However what we do with that time which God restores to us is important.
Hezekiah asked for extra time which God granted. God certified him as 'there was no king in Judah before and after Hezekiah. He strayed during that 15 year period where he showed his riches and lost his kingdom. It would have been better if he had not asked for those extra fifteen years. It is important to wait for God's perfect will and not his permissive will in our lives. We ought to be careful as to what we ask from God.
O Lord if I ever grumble about my three please forgive me. I am indeed blessed to have my three gifts from you.
